About Freestanding Lace
Whilst most machine embroidered designs are embroidered directly onto fabric, freestanding lace is embroidered onto a water-soluble stabilizer. The design is stitched in a way that the stiches overlap to support each other so that once the embroidery is complete and the water-soluble stabilizer is washed away, the beautiful lace design remains.
